Harvest!

Home grown potatoes

After about three months of watering and sun, finally these potatoes are ready! They were dug out from the backyard this evening. Now happily resting in our kitchen table. Haven’t thought about how to prepare them yet. Maybe salad, soup, or breakfast. :0) Any ideas?

I have a great soup recipes–and one is for a cold soup which would be great during this heatwave! Use the larger ones to cut up and roast as a side dish or make garlic mashed ‘taters. The small ones are great left whole and boiled in chicken broth, then buttered, salted and peppered. Now I’m getting hungry!

    Hi Kimberley,
Yeah, cold soup would be ideal for this weather. We have been munching on fruits and salads…gulping up cold tea…popsicle. It would be great if you could share the cold soup recipe. Thank you in advance! :0)

Have you eaten them all yet? It was one of my best moments in San Jose, harvesting those little jewels. :)

:0) Still a few left. Harvesting was really fun. We harvested the green squash after you left. It was delicious! More are growing. I will take a picture of the next one.
