Treasure Hunting

Cloud Lamps

Back in 2002, I was living in Modesto, CA. During that time, I often took morning trips to the flea markets/thrift stores/yardsales to take pictures and hunt for treasures. Now the epi-center of “Kool” is another treasured destination in San Francisco called SCRAP, Yes,the scroungers center for Reusable Art Parts. The warehouse is a treasure trove of inexpensive art supplies. This is a nonprofit center funded by the San Francisco Department of the Environment. The organization gathers up discards from design firms and other businesses. We all know people throw away fantastic things that with alittle creative thinking and inspiration can have a whole new life as art! So here is the scoop on your next wonderful destination and adventure day.
    SCRAP – 801 Toland Street, San Francisco (415) 647-1746
Open Tuesday – Thursday 9:00 to 5:00 and Saturday 11:00 to 4:00 Happy Hunting!
